and this is where i need your help!

Many of you who know me know that I am a list maker, a scheduler, a planner.  Summer has begun here, and I have 4 children now... 7, 5, 3 and itty bitty newbie :)

 This summer for us will be one of great change.

The week before we had joseph, brad had 2 phone interviews.  One emailed him the next day to schedule a campus visit.  Brad left mother's day and came back late the next monday night.  The next day he was offered a visiting position at Wingate University in Wingate, NC.  And then the next day we had a new baby! (talk about an exciting and eventful week!)  The basics on the job are that it's only 10 months (august to may), and it is NOT renewable, meaning, come this september he is back on the job market. He is subbing for another professor who will be on sabbatical.  Since it is only visiting, and such a small university, there is no moving allowance or even any "come out and find a place to live" budget either.  It is very minimal pay, meaning we will qualify for all the state aid again...

BUT it is a job! (hooray), and the people out there seem to really really like him, and it is BEAUTIFUL there (or so i'm told by only EVERYONE who has been there :)

However, brad still has not defended his dissertation since his own advisor is still on her sabbatical until august, so we will have to pay out of state tuition for this fall semester (boo!) but such is life when you have to plan your life around someone else's schedule (will it always be this way?)

anyways, so the start date is august 15. so, we have a busy summer trying to sell (or rent if needs be, but preferably sell) our house (know of anyone!??!?!?) we will be going out to find some place to live (or maybe just take a few attatching cardboard boxes lined with duct tape... camping anyone?  ) towards the end of june, and then moving beginning of august.

Now that that's all out in the open (bcs all that really has nothing to do with my title and beginning of my post but I just wanted to update y'all a bit on what's been going on:)

SO HERE is the part where I need help... What summer type schedules do YOU use with your kids? and where do you get some ideas? i'm normally a pretty crafty and creative mom, but my brain is shot! (2-3 night feedings a night will do that to some ;p)

I'm seriously talking about GIVE ME THE DETAILS! RUN MY SUMMER FOR ME PLEASE  ideas, ok?

p.s. I'll be posting more about joseph's birth soon too, i know some like all the details, and well, this is really the only place I  "journal" as of late, so I need to write it all down before i forget... (i'm already forgetting some of the "painful" details and already get excited to try for another natural birth...many years down the road of course...)
