Instant Friends!!!
The Loden's had their baby exactly 1 week after we had ours, almost exactly the same time too (minus 34 minutes!)
JD Tucker (in the red) and Kempton (in the blue) only 1 pound seperates these two, who are destined to be best friends. Thanks JJ and Joane for having such a cute baby to be friends with ours! (JDT was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches, pretty close to kemptons 7 2 and 20!)

week 1
So three is kinda tireing. but, my mom is here so that's a help to have a couple extra hands and eyes for the other kids and chores! but last night i snapped a couple of pictures. I think he's pretty darn cute. we also took a little video of him, then also one a few days ago with tj and sb holding him. tj was making the funniest faces.
you can really see his blonde hair here. quite unlike our other two that were born fatter, and with more and darker hair. but this one is coming around a starting to fit in!

so here's a few!
Okay, well i'm back from the land of the dead tired... for a few minutes anyways. so i thought i'd try to update a little bit. here's the story of how it all went down: (for those on the squemish side... look away!)
tuesday afternoon we checked into the hospital, just before a horrible storm came in. the dr on call gave me a little pill (not orally) to help ripen my cervix. he thought though that that with the storm would probably be enough to send me into labor, especially since the gel i had with sarahbeth was all it took and this pill was a whole lot stronger he said. however, all it did was make for an uncomfortable night with no sleep. the nurse we had that night was pretty funny too. when she put us in our room, she was telling us what they would do if there was a tornado warning, since we were in the middle of an intense storm. normally they just move everyone into the hallway with no windows, but since i was connected to the monitor, she would just put me in the closet... hmmm, fun i thought. but we didn't have a warning so we didn't have to worry about it.
then, 7:05 wednesday morning, my dr came in and broke my water, then started the dreaded pitocin at 7:30. got an epidural around 10:20 ish, and then tried to rest. unfortunately, i'm so sensitive to medicine, i got really itchy and couldn't rest very long before i had to scratch, i even had to scratch the numb parts, which was really wierd. anyways, started to feel some pressure, and got checked... 6 cm, then about 20 minutes later i felt nausious and threw up, several times. never done that before. didn't like it either. but the nurse said that was a good sign that things were moving along. so after they cleaned me up (no dignity when having a baby... NONE) she checked and sure enough, 8cm! then just a few minutes later, i felt incredible pressure, and nausious again, and so sue checked me again (sue and then a student nurse, virginia, were our nurses) and said i was complete, but she wouldn't let me push on account that with sarahbeth i only pushed for 5 minutes, and TJ only took 3 pushes. so i waited 10-15 minutes for the dr and all the nurses and people that had to be there. MAN, that was hard! then they got all into positition and told me when the next contraction came to go ahead and let them know and we would do this thing! so then they all started talking and i felt one come on...
"here comes one!" i said, but no one, heard me.
"i'm ready!" i said again, but no one heard me.
"she's ready!" brad said a lot louder.
"oh" they finally responded!
so i took a breath and they only made the count to 8 (instead of the 10 you're supposed to go to) BECAUSE... he was out! so, maybe next time i can just sneeze or cough!
anyways so he was 7 lbs, 2 oz and 20 inches long.
we had a few problems with his lungs cause he didn't get squeezed enough with just one push... kinda like a c-section baby.
so that is the story of how william kempton holley joined our once little family.
and just to say a few things about our experience at northport hospital. AWESOME! their policy is one on one, so our nurse stayed in the room with us the whole time! not just popping her head in every 30 minutes. they also had a birthday party for the older siblings complete with cake, candles, and hats, and pins! so fun. also, they have celebration meals for mom and dad the night before you leave the hospital. we picked steak! which was suprisingly really good! (the rest of the hospital food, not good). great hospital though!
TJ with baby kempton.
my 3 kids!
tj and sb in their big brother big sister shirts... tj didn't want to cooperate.

Retarded Grandparents
Something my mom sent me that i thought was too hilarious not to share! enjoy and smile a little! And Now for Some Fun – RETARDED GRANDPARENTS (this was actually reported by a teacher) After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday away from school. One child wrote the following: We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live in a big brick house but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Florida. Now they live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass. They ride around on their bicycles and wear name tags because they don't know who they are anymore. They go to a building called a wreck center, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now, they do exercises there, but they don't do them very well. There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with hats on. At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out, and go cruising in their golf carts. Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And, they eat the same thing every night --- early birds. Some of the people can't get out past the man in the doll house. The ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center for pot luck. My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too. When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out, so they can visit their grandchildren.

Updates and car accidents!
So yesterday we began our morning and got ready to go to town to drop brad off and do some errands before my dr's apt. however, we were a little delayed by an excited driver. see here in alabama, some people don't like green...(don't know why???) so we were behind one of these persons at a stop light when it turned that lovely shade of green which btw sarahbeth even knows means its our turn to go. but since they weren't going, neither could we, but that didn't stop the gal behind us... BAM! at first brad thought it might have been some transmission trouble, which we've been experiencing. the kids were like "WOW what was that??? what happened?" then we realized we'd been bumped. after what seemed like forever, the police officer came to make the report. by this time i was really dizzy and light headed... couldn't even walk by myself (what a weakling!) but the nice red headed lady who works for a spa was really apologetic and said she had great insurance. which we probably won't need since we just had a few scratches. she'll need it though since our trooper is TOUGHER than her puny little 4-runner. (it always seems that the person who causes the accidents have more damage to their car) anyways, brad got someone to cover his classes to go with me to my dr's apt since i was being a whiny baby and couldn't see clearly enough to drive safely and amy watched our kids brave woman, i tell ya!) anyways, after being on the monitor for 1/2 an hour just to make sure things were fine... which of course they were, we settled on the details for delivery. here's the game plan: tuesday the 12,
- wake up, finish packing, get kids ready and go into town to drop brad off for work/school.
- do a little friend visiting and last minute shopping before baby
- drop kids off at friends house and pick brad up at 12:30
- 1pm take brad to get root canal
- 3 pmish pick kids up and drop kids off at other friends house
- 4 pm check in to hotel... i mean hospital to get a pill
- stay overnight in hospital... my mom flys in and picks kids up and goes to our house
- wednesday morning, be induced and have baby!
- Thursday Valentines day...
- friday check out and go home!!!! with a new baby!
SOOOO, if all y'all locals aren't busy, you are welcome to come visit us in the northport hospital.
and thanks to all of our many friends for your help with everything!!!! we love and appreciate each and everyone of you!

when sarahbeth was born, a friend gave me this awesome baby calendar which i used and absolutely loved. it had stickers and pockets to put photos in and all sorts of memorabilia. when tj was born i called the company and they said they weren't making them anymore. so i tempted to make one for kempton, and voila! turned out pretty cute i think!
here's the pocket i was talking about! and now i can us the stickers from the calendar that jen gave me! Thanks Jen!!!
